Happy Fall Fritter Nation!

As many of you are aware, fall is our busiest and most popular season of the year here in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. We love the cooler temperatures; beautiful colors of the leaves changing and definitely look forward to seeing you all. The Apple Valley as well as Sevierville, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg all offer anything you might want for a special get a way. Whether you are looking for an array of shopping, great accommodations, entertainment, or delicious food we have got you covered! Anytime is truly a great time to visit … but fall is (in my opinion) the most special of all.

It is hard to believe that summer vacations were in full swing just a few weeks ago but are quickly winding down and holidays are just around the corner! We are already starting to see signs of the season changing all around us. You can almost smell the autumn spice in the air and that makes me want to grab a warm cup of cider and relax in a rocker on the porch.

For all of you that include Applewood in your Thanksgiving (and Christmas) plans, I thought I would mention that we are currently completely booked for our Annual Thanksgiving Feast at the Original Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant, however the Farmhouse Grill has limited availability remaining so call soon to book your reservation! You can make in house reservations at the Grill by calling 865 429 8644.

DON’T FORGET…We are also taking pre-orders for our Thanksgiving Meal to Go and offering our Mini Feast by calling 865 429 5700 ext 1113. The full meal comes with a 12lb Roasted Turkey, quart each of mashed potatoes, green beans, sweet potato casserole, cornbread dressing, turkey gravy, a dozen dinner rolls, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie and a gallon of tea. Need more? You can purchase additional quarts of each side and even add on an extra pie or 2 if you want! Need less? Try our Mini Feast that comes with sliced turkey, quart each of mashed potatoes, green beans, cornbread sausage dressing, a pint of turkey dressing, cranberry sauce and a dozen apple fritters. You cant go wrong no matter what you choose!

Whether you dine with us in house or pick up a meal to enjoy off site, we love helping you do the cooking! So, give us a call and make the Farmhouse part of your plans for Thanksgiving and/or Christmas. Don’t forget that Christmas reservations at the Original Applewood Farmhouse will be accepted beginning Monday November 27th by calling 865 428 1222. Be sure to specify you are calling for holiday reservations!

In other news, I am excited to share with you that Applewood was recently voted Best Country Cooking in the Knoxville News Sentinel reader’s poll. We were also voted Best Dessert and Best Pancake House by readers of The Mountain Press and voted Best Breakfast and Best Southern Cooking by Pigeon Forge. I want to personally thank all of you who voted for us! We are thankful and blessed to receive these honors. We could not do it without you! It means a lot to all of us here in the Valley to be able to serve you and provide you with down home southern favorites that have kept you coming back for over 35 years and counting!

For those of you who have seen the construction on site and asked what is going on … our neighbors at the “Barn” are adding more shops and experiences to make your visits even more special. The project is still in the early stages, but we are confident that in the end it will be something that we all will enjoy. Be sure to visit our social media pages for updates and more information as things progress. We also post information on specials, events, featured dishes and do our best to keep you “in the know” on all that is happening, so be sure to visit often so that you don’t miss anything.

As always, I want to close by reminding you to stay happy, blessed, and thankful. You are all a part of our extended family, and we hope to see you soon!
