Hello Fritter Family! It is uncommonly warm for fall here in the “Valley”, but the leaves are starting to change and hints of the change in season are all around us as we gear up for our busiest time of the year here at Applewood.

This season always seems to be a big draw for the Smoky Mountains, and we are pleased to have families and groups from all over visiting us daily – and believe me when I say, we aren’t complaining one bit!

I want to take a few moments to share with you some of the plans we have made for those of you coming our way. As you probably already know, we continue to have live Bluegrass music every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and holiday weekends from now until the end of November at the Farmhouse. The complex has completely transformed into full fall decor to celebrate our favorite season with the addition of dozens of pumpkins, bundles of corn stalks, stacks of hay, plenty of scarecrows, and much more! As you wonder around, try not to miss Mr. Fritters and Mrs. Julep relaxing on our porch. Take a moment to stop and snap a few photos and tag us when you share them on social media!

As you may know, we are OPEN 365 DAYS a year between our two restaurants and Thanksgiving may just be our best and busiest day of the year. Our Applewood chefs have crafted the ultimate Thanksgiving meal for all you folks – including roast turkey with gravy and dressing, roast prime rib, sugar cured ham, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, sweet potato casserole, dinner rolls, and pumpkin pie! We love Thanksgiving and we are blessed that you all love it as much as we do.

The Farmhouse is already completely booked with reservations on Thanksgiving Day…but don’t worry, the Grill still has a few spots available. Give them a call at 865 429 8644 to secure your place at the table!

But if you don’t get in for Thanksgiving Day at the Farmhouse or the Grill, don’t stress. We still have you covered! We are now pre-selling our Thanksgiving Meal To-Go. Never mind the cooking…just let us take care of it, so you can enjoy the day with friends and family! The to go meal includes a 12lb roasted turkey, quart each of mashed potatoes, green beans, sweet potato casserole, turkey gravy, cornbread sausage dressing plus a dozen rolls, cranberry sauce, a pumpkin pie and gallon of sweet tea complete with re-heating instructions.

And there is more, the festivities don’t stop there! This year we have decided to put on our first Inaugural Christmas Tree Lighting the day after Thanksgiving. We have an 18ft tree on the way and we can’t wait to light it up with all of you. What better way to kick off the Christmas season than with Christmas carols, pictures with Santa, singing with elves, meeting a ballerina from the Nutcraker, enjoying some hot cocoa and more! Christmas in Apple Valley is coming fast, and we can’t wait to kick it off with you! This is a celebration you will not want to miss! Our staff have been busy planning and making sure that this will be an event fun for the whole family. We certainly are excited to have you join us!

And don’t forget that Friday November 29th is also the day we will start accepting reservations for our 32nd Annual Christmas Feast at the Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant. Reservations sell out quickly so be sure to call early to share a meal with us on Christmas Day … and don’t forget that Santa will be dining with us on that day as well after his busy night circling the globe! So, bring the entire family!

We are more than thankful to be Sevierville’s Oldest Restaurant and so proud that we have been able to serve you for the holidays for 32 consecutive years. It is our pleasure to be here for you … our extended family and as I have said before we are excited to see you.

I certainly hope you’ll join us to celebrate our favorite time of the year. May each of you have a thankful and blessed season.

Sincerely,

William B. Stokely IV
